Game Day Wednesday, September 24, 2025

First grade is off to a great start! One highlight was reading Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes. In the story, Wemberly has many worries, especially about starting school. We used this story to talk about our own worries and shared some strategies we can use to help ourselves feel better. The class had such thoughtful ideas, and it was a great way to build community and ease into the school year. We are looking forward to all of the exciting learning ahead!

First grade science students have begun a study of air as a state of matter. They used parachutes and played some air wrestling games.

Prek and kindergarten students began a science unit about animals and what animals need to survive. They have enjoyed handling the isopods and watching them move.

Second grade students certainly do rock! They have begun a science unit about rocks. Don't forget we have a great resource in town- the old stone quarry and it is a great place to go rock hunting!

Third graders are learning about water and what it does when it is on different surfaces. They even made ramps and had water droplet races so that they could observe the speed of water and how it is related to the slope.

Third grade Science classes are having a great time racing water droplets! Fourth grade students have been looking closely at different soil samples and discussing the properties of soil and rocks.

Fourth graders had the opportunity to study rocks with many different qualities!

Fifth graders had the opportunity to try out the hands-on learning tools in the Perry Browne Makerspace!

Students enjoy the hands-on experiences in our Perry Browne Makerspace!
