Jessica Poyer joined NCSD as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction in January 2021. Jess has two decades of experience in education.
Jess is a second career educator, gaining her inclusive childhood education certification at Nazareth College in Rochester through her Master’s Degree. Jessica describes her first career as a Broadcast Journalist in a lab classroom, as every day, she learned something new while reporting stories, anchoring, and producing.
Jess is working on the title of lifelong student as well as she pursues her Ed.D. and is currently writing her dissertation.
Jessica is grateful for the opportunity to serve the teachers, staff, students, caregivers, and Norwich community. Having been born, raised, and educated in a small town, serving a rural community is where her passion lies.
