Second grade science students have continued to learn about rock types. They are looking at sizes of these sedimentary rocks and using screens to help them sort like real geologists! We also got to use a rock tumbler to see exactly how weathering affects these rocks.

🌟 October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month 🌟

Today, our hearts were touched by a beautiful act of kindness and advocacy. Some of our elementary students shared pins and bracelets with teachers and staff to help spread awareness and celebrate individuals with Down syndrome. 💙💛

These small tokens carry a big message: inclusion, understanding, and the importance of embracing differences. As educators, we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from our students every day—not just through academics, but through compassion, courage, and community spirit.

Let this be a reminder to all of us: awareness leads to acceptance, and acceptance leads to belonging.

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week Fun! 🔥🚒

A huge thank you to the Norwich Fire Department for visiting our Little Twisters this week! Our students loved learning about fire safety and exploring the fire truck up close.

We truly appreciate the time the firefighters took to share important safety tips — and for bringing special gifts for all of our students!

Thank you for helping us learn how to stay safe and for being such an important part of our community!

Third grade STEAM students have been working together to design, create and test a nest that can hold wooden eggs after listening to a story about how birds build nests. What a fun easy activity to continue learning at home with simple materials. We used sticks, paper, string (yarn) and pipe cleaners and our "trees" made from cardboard tubes.
