Congratulations to the Middle School and High School Art departments for last night's outstanding art show. The student work was exceptional, and the families and community members who came enjoyed the evening. Students were proud to show their work, and the written explanations of the art were well done and deepened everyone's understanding.
Special thanks to the Art teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure this event was amazing, and all the students whose work was displayed in last night's event.
We are delighted to share that for the first time we will be livestreaming the Design and Drawing for Production (DDP) class ‘Cardboard Boat Race’. This event is the culmination of a three-week project that sees DDP students working in small teams to design, model, and then build full-size cardboard boats to test in the swimming pool. The only materials they can use are cardboard, limited masking and duct tape, one small bottle of wood glue, and a limited quantity of Shellac and Primer! The objective of the test is for boats to complete at least two laps of the pool. More is better!
We will be livestreaming so that parents, guardians, and interested members of the community can watch the event. While it is designed to be fun, it is also test of the design and build quality of the boats. Please join us to see which boats make it, and which go down like the Titanic!!

Set to Go, a signature program from the JED Foundation, is dedicated to supporting teens during the transition out of high school. Preparing for life after high school is more than just academic preparation. Emotional readiness is critical to student success. Set to Go provides teens and families with the skills, tools, and guidance needed to transition out of high school in an emotionally healthy way — no matter where their post-high school journey takes them. During this interactive session, participants will learn strategies to navigate this transition.

This week, our 9th and 10th graders are participating in Teen Mental Health First Aid Training with the Madison County Rural Health Council! 🧠💚
Through this program, students are learning to:
✅ Recognize the signs of mental health challenges in themselves and others.
✅ Support friends in need and connect them to trusted adults or resources.
✅ Build resilience and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
💬 "It’s important to know how to help a friend and understand how to ask for help if you need it," says one student participant.

The 9th Grade Academy celebrated On-Track students from Quarter 3 by providing a Hot Chocolate Station. Students who were passing all of their Quarter 3 classes got to design a hot chocolate with all the fixings! Congrats to all!
Before the break, 9th Grade Academy students celebrated On-Track Attendance. Mr. Chrystie’s class spun the attendance wheel and 5 students were randomly selected. Each student won a gift certificate to the coffee shop. Congrats to Brooks Boland, Damien DuBois, Ryan Evans, Rabekah Monroe and Nora Collins.
Each week the 9th Grade Academy has a competition between homerooms to see which class has the most students wearing purple on Purple Pride Fridays. Congratulations to this weeks winners- Mr. Moutard’s class! They had over ½ of the students wearing purple on Friday! GO PURPLE!
BURR- this week was so cold, we didn't play outside for recess- but Mrs.Markham's class brought some of the outside IN! Happy Friday!!
