High School Technology: Students in the Design and Drawing for Production (DDP) class recently finished the Fishing Lure project. For this project, students designed a fishing lure on paper and then in CAD, put it into a mold in Cad, and then 3D printed the mold. They then injected hot plastic into their mold, let it cool down, and set. At the end of this process, students had their own fishing lure! Today, we went to the Chenango River behind the school to test the lures. No bites, but the lures work and will now take their place in students' tackle boxes for future fishing trips! We even managed to get the drone airborne to snap some photos of the students fishing!

High School Technology: Today we completed a field trip to the Raymond Corporation in Greene. Students from 9th, 10th, and 11th Grade attended. The purpose of this trip was to provide a fun and engaging experience for students, while also providing career connections for students to consider a STEM career post-graduation. At Raymond, we received a company presentation followed by a tour of the large and very busy manufacturing facility, which was awesome! Of particular interest, we learned that Raymond are a manufacturing company that are transitioning to also become a technology company. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed inside the facility, so attached are a couple of the lobby area and outside! Thank you to the Raymond Corporation for hosting us so well, and to The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) for coordinating this trip.
