High School Technology:
The Design and Drawing for Production (DDP) class just finished the Wooden Cutting Board project. Once again, they impressed with their creativity, imagination, and persistence to overcome problems and produce some beautiful boards to take home. The laser cutter also enabled us to do some fantastic engraving to really give students' boards an extra personal touch!
Special thanks must also be given to Baillie Lumber, Sherburne for donating a truck-load of beautiful Maple, Walnut, and Hickory lumber for us to use in this project. We couldn't do it without you and we are very grateful!
Congratulations DDP students. You did an amazing job and also learned how to use the miter saw, table saw, band saw, jointer, planer, and a variety of sanders, clamps, glues, and oil!

High School Technology:
We finally got some decent weather, which means the Drone Aviation class went outside to fly the more advanced drones. With much of the outside Capital Improvement Project work now complete, we have a lot of photos, videos, and mapping work to complete! More to follow, but here are a few shots of the amazing new Practice Turf, taken by the Drone Aviation students!

The music department needs your help!
Norwich City Schools will be hosting a NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festival on May 9-10 at the High School. The New York State School Music Association sponsors festivals around the state where students perform a vocal or instrumental solo and receive a grade and comments from a certified adjudicator. We will be hosting approximately 1250 students from our own district as well as those from nearly 50 neighboring schools.
In order for this event to be successful, many volunteers are needed. No musical knowledge is necessary! If you would like to help out, please fill out the google form below no later than Tuesday April 29th.
Google Form: https://forms.gle/VjD91qkB6yAvUgRJA
Please note: Your volunteer assignment and any necessary training will be given at an important meeting for all volunteers on Thursday May 8th from 6:00-7:00 PM in Vocal Music classroom (room 43 at the High School). Please plan on attending.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. Feel free to contact any music department member if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
The Norwich Music Department

Game Day Wednesday, April 16, 2025

Educators at the Norwich City School District are excited to publish the stories of our courses through our curricular storyboards. Each storyboard is a 30,000-foot view of our courses, told in story or narrative format.
These storyboards, meant for caregivers and our community, stem from each team’s work carefully examining and unpacking their standards and understanding student learning outcomes. They result in a story sequence of what students will learn throughout their experience in each course.
Check them out by visiting our site here: https://www.norwichcsd.org/page/storyboarding-ncsd
