High School Technology.
Today the Engineering Design class worked to a tight deadline to produce the initial design for a launch device. Tomorrow, we will launch beanbags and measure the distances, before analyzing the data collected to iterate the designs and make improvements. Great work, Techstars!
In science today the 6th graders competed in making paper chains. They only had one glue stick, one pair of scissors, and construction paper. Here are some winners!
Yesterday, students from Mrs. Ryan's, Ms. Cumming, and Mrs. Chapman's class did a Scavenger Hunt to get familiar with all 3 classrooms.

High School Technology - Draft & Design (DDP)
High School Techstars in DDP classes today started their first project: the design and iteration of the Apple iPhone. We kicked this off by watching a video showing the impact and consequences (intended and unintended) since the launch of the iPhone 1 in June 2007! We also examined how the iPhone design has gone through numerous iterations since its launch. Tomorrow, we will analyze this further in discussion groups.
Our future scientists in the Biology class of the C.A.R.E Program are building skills of collaboration, delegation, leadership, practice in negotiation, problem solving, and coping with frustration. These are several essential skills needed throughout high school and beyond.

NHS Purple Pride Picnic Fun!
High School Technology.
Team Techstars finished the first week strong with another Instant Design Challenge: Marshmellos, Spaghetti and Masking Tape - build the tallest tower you can (DDP class) or a bridge that can support the weight of a cell phone (IED class) - in 25 minutes. Go! The result? See for yourselves! Some impressive design engineering and construction skills on display. Go Purple Technado!!
Norwich High School welcome back students and staff at the Purple Pride Picnic! A great way to kick off the school year!
Auditions for this year’s junior musical, Beauty and the Beast Jr, are happening Monday and Tuesday after school. We are SO excited to put on this show in November - it’s going to be incredible. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the magic.
