Good afternoon,
Thank you for your patience, as we investigated the phantom text. Through the investigation, we have determined the threat was not credible nor did it place NCSD as a target. This conclusion only occurred because of the efforts of our NYS Troopers and Norwich Police Dept.
There are multiple schools in multiple counties responding to this exact social media post. Effective 1:00 PM today in our Pre-K thought 8 schools, our hold in place has been lifted.
At 1:37, the hold in place at the high school will also be lifted.
Instruction will resume until normal dismissal times. All after school activities will remain as scheduled.
We recognize your potential desire to pick up your child, officers will be at all four buildings to assist you if you would like. Otherwise, busses will run as normal.
Thank you again for your patience and support.

This morning, after student arrival, we became aware of a phantom school threat via a Snapchat post. Phantom meaning, no specificity of school, city or even state. We are currently involved with multiple law enforcement agencies, investigating source and credibility. We will remain in a hold in place restricting all visitor access until further notice from law enforcement. Thank you for your patience and support.
