NCSD Recent Updates
The most recent change as of Monday, January 11, is the switch to fully remote instruction for the high school (only). This will be in effect for a 10-day period beginning Monday, January 11, and ending Wednesday, January 20. Students will return for in-person instruction on Thursday, January 20.
Additional details for the high school are available regarding BOCES programs, Chromebook pick-ups and athletics:
• Students who attend BOCES for their CTE program are still able to attend. The AM bus will be at the high school at 8:30am and the PM bus will be there at 11:45 as per our normal schedule. BOCES CTE students who normally get picked up by a bus will still be picked up and those who currently have permission to drive may continue to do so.
• Chromebook pick up for juniors will be moved to January 26-28th.
• Bowling will continue as it occurs off school grounds.
• Swimming, indoor track and all athletic conditioning is cancelled until January 21st.
CLOSURE INFORMATION
As we continue forward with hybrid and in-person instruction, there have been questions regarding when a student or staff member should stay at home. The COVID-19 Toolkit is a resource compiled by the New York State Department of Health that is available to guide families and employees in determining any necessary steps to ensure the safety and health of everyone who attends school in our buildings. The COVID-19 Closure Graphic is also available to guide our decisions around when we should consider closing school due to increased COVID-19 positivity rates. The thresholds being used are consistent throughout the region, and school closure decisions will be made in close consultation with the Department of Health.
In response to positive cases of COVID-19, an update has been released most recently on November 23. Read her important message to parents by clicking on the link that follows:
