SPRING BREAK:   The recent executive order from Governor Cuomo extended the need for instruction over the spring break that is scheduled on the NCSD calendar.  Students will be asked to complete assignments that are scheduled during the window from April 6th through the 13th, on their own schedule to allow for flexibility in learning. The assignments are considered part of the required work within the marking period.

School Board
The Board of Education of the Norwich City School District consists of seven unpaid members elected to three-year terms of office by residents of the District. Within rules, laws and regulations set down by state and federal governments, the Board of Education functions as a legislative body responsible for governing education within the District. The Board meets once monthly at Norwich City School District Offices located at 89 Midland Drive, Norwich, New York. District residents are welcome to attend both the regular and special Board of Education meeting. In addition, work sessions are also open to the public for a more informal discussion during the 2019-2020 school year.

Board Goals

BOE Goals for 2019-2020

1.  Support the transition of the superintendent by working together to achieve common goals, and drive strategic priorities for the school district keeping the best interests of the students, staff and community in the forefront. 
2.  Enhance communication with the staff and community, building trust and re-establishing a sense of common direction and purpose. 
3.  Create sound financial plans that address short term concerns as well as setup long term stability, while buidling back the fund balance to appropriate levels and improving the overall fiscal health of the district.
