The NHS Adventure Club students traveled to Historic Old Forge in the Adirondack Mountains on October 15. Students joined Advisor Mr. Turnbull and chaperones Mr. Genung, Ms. Carpenter, and bus driver Jeremy McKenna and ascended up Bald Mountain. Students were extremely helpful & supportive to one another climbing up the challenging and difficult terrain. The views from the summit took everyone’s breath away! Students were also able to go sightseeing in Old Forge and shopping in some of the unique Adirondack stores and shops. This was one "adventure" our NHS students will never forget!
Gibson students got a close look at the fire truck pictured and learned about fire prevention.
Ten NHS students joined Mr. Genung (NHS At-Risk Coordinator) and spent a few hours painting with 3 local police officers at the Artist Palette Studio. Students were able paint a festive fall portrait and also had the option to create a unique painting that represented them. A BIG thank you to the Artist Palette staff Jill Craft & Ricki Cower. We would also like to thank Officer Grimes, Officer Woodard and Officer Legacy for volunteering their time to paint with our NCSD students!
