Madrigal Singers Receive Gold Rating at NYSSMA

The Norwich High School Madrigal Singers participated in the NYSSMA Major Ensemble Adjudication Festival on Tuesday, May 16, at Oneonta High School. They were the only school in our region to receive a Gold Rating for their outstanding performance. Their next performance will be on Tuesday, May 23, at the Spring Concert (7:00 PM NHS Auditorium).

Dig It Day! On Friday, May 12, approximately 35 Norwich High School students took part in annual “Dig it Day” on the High grounds. Throughout the day students planted flowers, cleaned up leaves, removed weeds, mulched around trees and shrubs, and removed lawn debris in all four of the school courtyards. High School Science teacher Mrs. Madison and Support Staff Member Linda Hopson helped to organize this school community service event. A special thanks is extended to Mr. Stan Foulds and the buildings and grounds and custodial staff for providing tools needed to get the job done! Read More...

Scholar Banquet 2017

The 2017 Scholar Banquet was held at SUNY Oneonta on May 10. Norwich honored one senior who demonstrates outstanding character and academic success to attend this event. This year's recipient selected one influential person who has impacted her education, her high school English teacher. Congratulations are extended for this very special recognition!

Senior Athletic Awards Banquet

This year’s Senior Athletic Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, June 2nd at 5:30pm. It will be held at the High School Cafeteria.

Each senior athlete will be honored with a plaque. An awards presentation will be made to honor our Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athlete, and also to the Senior Female and Male Scholar Athlete.

2017 Employee & Educator of the Year Nominations The deadline for submitting an Employee of the Year and Educator of the Year Nomination is Friday, June 9, 2017.  Two NCSD employees will be recognized at the kickoff meeting for the 2017-2018 school year! 

Vintage Toys and Comic Books Presentation On Friday, May 5, NHS students in Mr. Beckman's Life Skills class were treated to a presentation from NHS At Risk Coordinator Mr. Genung. During the 45-minute presentation, Mr. Genung taught students about the rich history of vintage comic books and his passion for collecting vintage 1980’s toys. Life Skills students had many questions for Mr. Genung about some of the samples he brought in from home of his personal collection. Read More...

Norwich to Host NYSSMA Festival

Norwich City Schools will be hosting a NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festival on May 12-13, 2017 at the High School. New York State School Music Association sponsors festivals around the state where students perform a vocal or instrumental solo and receive a grade and comments from a certified adjudicator. We will be hosting approximately 1600 students from our own district as well as those from nearly 50 neighboring schools.
