End-of-Year Trip to Otsiningo Park

NHS staff members Mr. Beckman, Ms. Perrella and Mr. Genung organized an end of the year field trip to Otsiningo Park and the movies. It was their goal to combine Mr. Beckman’s “Life Skills” class along with some of the previous year superstar’s of the “Fresh Start” program. The Ex Fresh Start 10th grade students really stepped up and connected well with Mr. Beckham’s students on this unique field trip to the park and movies to see “Wonder Woman”.

NHS 2-Day Mix-Tape Workshop On June 5th and 6th NHS At-risk Coordinator Mr. Genung hosted a two-day after school program workshop on how to make a classic Mix-Tape. With the help of some of his Tornado A/V club students, they transformed his classroom into a multi-audio workstation area. During this two-day workshop, students learned the fundamentals of analog tape recording, basic and advanced functionality of cassette recording devices, and effectively how to dub audio tracks from multiple playback sources to cassette. Students walked away with their own personalized Mix-tape and a wealth of new technical knowledge that they can use making their own mix tape at home.

Norwich Marches to Victory at Sherburne Pageant of Bands

The Norwich Tornado Marching Band did a fantastic job at the Sherburne Pageant of Bands and brought home the following awards:

* 1st Place in Parade Band
* 1st Place in Colorguard
* 1st Place in the Drumline Competition
* 2nd Place in High School Concert Band

Senior Athletic Awards Banquet The Norwich High School Senior Athletics Banquet was held on June 2, 2017. Four senior student-athletes were recognized for their extraordinary success in their high school athletic careers. The students pictured received the following awards from left to right: Female Athlete of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year, Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Madrigal Singers Receive Gold Rating at NYSSMA

The Norwich High School Madrigal Singers participated in the NYSSMA Major Ensemble Adjudication Festival on Tuesday, May 16, at Oneonta High School. They were the only school in our region to receive a Gold Rating for their outstanding performance. Their next performance will be on Tuesday, May 23, at the Spring Concert (7:00 PM NHS Auditorium).

Dig It Day! On Friday, May 12, approximately 35 Norwich High School students took part in annual “Dig it Day” on the High grounds. Throughout the day students planted flowers, cleaned up leaves, removed weeds, mulched around trees and shrubs, and removed lawn debris in all four of the school courtyards. High School Science teacher Mrs. Madison and Support Staff Member Linda Hopson helped to organize this school community service event. A special thanks is extended to Mr. Stan Foulds and the buildings and grounds and custodial staff for providing tools needed to get the job done! Read More...

Scholar Banquet 2017

The 2017 Scholar Banquet was held at SUNY Oneonta on May 10. Norwich honored one senior who demonstrates outstanding character and academic success to attend this event. This year's recipient selected one influential person who has impacted her education, her high school English teacher. Congratulations are extended for this very special recognition!

Senior Athletic Awards Banquet

This year’s Senior Athletic Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, June 2nd at 5:30pm. It will be held at the High School Cafeteria.

Each senior athlete will be honored with a plaque. An awards presentation will be made to honor our Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athlete, and also to the Senior Female and Male Scholar Athlete.
